Kyle Kanuckel - Superintendent

Mr. Kanuckel has been the Superintendent of the Wood County Educational Service Center since September 1, 2011.  He has worked in public education for 32 years with 31 of those coming at River View Local Schools in Coshocton County, the last 14 as the Superintendent of the district.

He graduated from Muskingum College in 1980 with a BA in Elementary Education and High School Mathematics.  In 1985, he received his Masters in Educational Administration from Xavier University.  Ashland University bestowed his Superintendent Licensure upon him in 1997.

As the WCESC Superintendent, his goal is to always do what is best for students while delivering the highest quality and most cost-efficient educational services with the available resources at the WCESC's disposal.

Mr. Kanuckel has been married to his wife, Kelly, for 30 years.  They have two married daughters and five grandsons.

Gina Fernbaugh - Treasurer/CFO

Graduate of Franklin University, Business Administration Major

Ms. Fernbaugh has been employed as Treasurer/CFO of the Wood County Educational Service Center since 1993. During this time she has successfully managed a budget that has grown from 6.5 million dollars to 21 million dollars.

Wood County ESC is focused on maintaining the highest level of financial integrity with its customers. To achieve this goal, Ms. Fernbaugh and her staff are committed to providing quality financial audits. During her tenure, all financial audits performed by the Auditor of State's Office have been void of any findings or citations. At the March 2014 Governing Board Meeting, a representative from the State Auditor's Office presented Ms. Fernbaugh with the Ohio Auditor of State Award, the fourth consecutive year Ms. Fernbaugh has received this award for exemplary financial reporting since the award's inception in FY 2010.  

Ms. Fernbaugh is very active in many professional organizations and serves on numerous state and local committees. She received the 2003 Distinguished Alumni Award from Northwest State Community College and was the recipient of the Herbert D. Brum Scholarship award presented by the Ohio Association of School Business Officials. Ms. Fernbaugh also received the Frederick Hill Scholarship awarded by the Association of School Business Officials International.

In addition, Ms. Fernbaugh received the designation of Registered School Business Official from the Association of School Business Officials International. This designation is the highest professional status that can be awarded to a practicing school business administrator by ASBO International.

Kyle Clark - Director of Prevention Education

Mr. Clark serves as the Director of Prevention Education Services.  This initiative partners with Wood County School Districts, law enforcement, juvenile justice agencies, mental health service providers, and other community organizations.  The Initiative works towards finding solutions and implementing evidenced-based programs that address safe school environments and violence prevention, substance abuse prevention and intervention, student behavioral, social, and emotional supports, mental health services, and early childhood development where students can learn, grow, and succeed.

Mr. Clark obtained his BS degree in Education, Masters degree in Educational Administration/Supervision, and completed his post-graduate doctoral studies at Bowling Green State University.  He has over thirty years of educational administration experience as a principal, superintendent, and project director.
